VALE’S IRON ORE OUTPUT RISES 2.4% IN Q2, NEARING ANNUAL TARGET

Vale reported an iron ore production of 80.59 million tonnes in Q2 2024, up 2.4% from the same period last year, supporting its annual target of 320 million tonnes. The S11D project in Pará produced 19.5 million tonnes, and Vargem Grande in Minas Gerais saw a 27.5% increase to 11.8 million tonnes. H1 2024 production reached 151.4 million tonnes, a 4.1% increase. Iron ore sales rose 7.3% to 79.79 million tonnes in Q2, with a 10.4% increase in H1 2024. Copper production was 78,600 tonnes (-0.3%), and nickel production dropped 24.4% to 27,900 tonnes. Vale’s 2024 targets are 320,000-355,000 tonnes for copper and 160,000-175,000 tonnes for nickel.
