An unprecedented initiative underway in Paraná is being closely monitored by the port of São Francisco do Sul. If the format is successful, it can be adopted at the terminal in Santa Catarina. At the port of Paranaguá, a concession plan for the access channel to the private sector is being prepared. According to the model, investments in the channel are remunerated through port tariffs. In São Francisco, the deepening of the external channel is in the environmental licensing phase and the concession could be an alternative to finance the work estimated at almost R$ 300 million. The concession model envisaged in Paraná provides for an expansion of the draft of the access channel to the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina, with a length of 22 km.
