The Transnordestina railroad is set to be a vital transport route in the region it crosses. that will have significant economic impacts on related assets and industries. One such impact is the increase in cargo movement to the Port of Pecém, the final destination of the Transnordestina. After the start of operations, scheduled for 2027, the volume handled at the maritime terminal is forecast to double. This projection comes from Tufi Daher Filho, CEO of Transnordestina Logística S/A, the company responsible for building the railroad. He notes that the Port of Pecém currently handles around 25 million tonnes per year. Initially, the Transnordestina will have the capacity to transport 30 million tonnes per year, which could later double with an increase in the number of yards. “
