Biological pesticide sales in Brazil reached R$ 4.35 billion in the 2024/25 crop year, an 18% increase from 2023/24, according to Kynetec’s FarmTrak Bioinsumos. Soybeans led demand with 48% of sales, followed by corn (31%) and sugarcane (12%). Bio-inputs now represent nearly 5% of the country’s R$ 100 billion crop-protection market and have quadrupled since 2020 due to pest resistance, price volatility of chemicals, easier regulation, and export requirements. Bionematicides dominated with 44% of sales, followed by bioinsecticides (39%) and biofungicides (17%), all showing strong growth. Expanding diseases such as soybean rust and rising caterpillar pressure also boosted adoption. The treated potential area jumped from 21.9% to 46.7% in five years, with states like Goiás and Mato Grosso surpassing 50% usage—showing bio-inputs’ fast integration into Brazilian agriculture.
