The Gross Value of Production (GVP) reached BRL 1.151 trillion in October 2023, up 2.2% from 2022. The record crop and production advances drove this surge. Crop GVP climbed by 4.2% in real terms, reaching BRL 811.7 billion. Many items, including peanuts, rice, bananas, cocoa, sugarcane, oranges, cassava, soybeans, tomatoes, and grapes, made positive contributions. Soybeans, corn, sugarcane, coffee, and cotton account for 81.9% of crop GVP. Positive highlights in livestock were pigs, milk, and eggs. Mato Grosso, Sao Paulo, Paraná, Minas Gerais, and Goiás dominate with 59.8% of total GVP. However, there are considerable concerns for 2024 owing to weather conditions, which may cause the GVP to decrease.
