THE FAR WEST OF SANTA CATARINA PROJECTS A YIELD OF 200,1 SACKS OF CORN PER HECTARE.

A preliminary survey by Epagri and Sicoob Central SC/RS estimates corn yields in western Santa Catarina at 200.1 sacks per hectare for the 2025/26 season, based on crop samples across multiple municipalities. Pinhalzinho leads productivity, followed by Cunha Porã and Guaraciaba. Results align closely with farmer-reported data and will support policy and production strategies. Although planted area has fallen about 30% over a decade due to soybean competition and expansion limits, productivity remains high. The 2024/25 harvest reached a record 9,350 kg per hectare, led by Campo Erê.
