In July, Tereos carried out its largest-ever VHP sugar shipment, exporting 70,000 tons on a single vessel to China from VLI’s Tiplam terminal in Santos (SP). The milestone, surpassing last year’s 60,000-ton record to Indonesia, was made possible by increasing the terminal’s draft from 13.2m to 14.1m, allowing larger cargo capacity. Tereos highlighted the achievement as a strategic step in strengthening its presence in Asia, particularly China, the world’s biggest sugar consumer. VLI noted that the draft expansion anticipates the demands of the 2025/26 harvest, boosting competitiveness and generating economies of scale for exporters. Tereos also plans further large shipments in the second half of 2025 to reinforce global expansion.
