SUMMER CORN PLANTING HITS 72% OF THE PROJECTED AREA IN RS

According to Emater/RS-Ascar, summer corn planting in Rio Grande do Sul for the 2025-26 season advanced 10 percentage points last week, bringing the total to 72% of the projected 785,030 hectares. A favorable spell of dry, sunny weather facilitated sowing across all regions. This allowed farmers to apply nitrogen topdressing to more established crops (at stages V6 to V7) and to manage weeds in newer areas (currently at V2 to V4). No sown areas have yet entered the vegetative development or flowering stages. The average yield forecast for the harvest remains at 7,376 kg/ha.
