SUMMER CORN IN BRAZIL IS 88.1% HARVESTED AND WINTER CORN IS 13.1%, ACCORDING TO CONAB

The National Supply Company (Conab) reported that the harvest of Brazil’s first corn crop reached 88.1% of the planted area, a 2.9 percentage point increase from last week and a 0.1 percentage point increase year-on-year. São Paulo, Goiás, Paraná, and Santa Catarina have completed the harvest. Rio Grande do Sul is at 97%, up 2 percentage points from last week. The second crop corn harvest reached 13.1% of the area, a 5.6 percentage point increase from last week and 7.8 percentage points year-on-year. Mato Grosso leads with 18.1% harvested, followed by Paraná (13%), Tocantins, and Mato Grosso do Sul (10% each). Only Piauí hasn’t started harvesting.
