SUMMER CORN HARVEST REACHES 81.6% OF THE COUNTRY’S AREA, SAYS CONAB

As of last Sunday, 81.6% of Brazil’s summer corn harvest was completed, with a weekly increase of 3.2 percentage points but a seasonal delay of 1.6 points, according to Conab. São Paulo, Paraná, and Santa Catarina have finished harvesting. Rio Grande do Sul, impacted by severe weather since April, harvested 93% with no progress from the previous week, lagging 2 points behind last year. The second corn harvest for 2023/24 reached 3.7% of the area, up 3 points from 2023 and 3.6 points from the previous week. Mato Grosso leads with 4.8% harvested, followed by Paraná and Mato Grosso do Sul at 4%, Goiás at 2%, and Tocantins at 1%. Other states have not started.
