SUGARCANE PRODUCTIVITY RISES IN OCTOBER, BUT LAGS BEHING LAST HARVEST

Sugarcane productivity in Brazil’s Center-South increased 4.3% in October to 64.6 t/ha, although it remains below the 2024-25 harvest average of 75.7 t/ha, representing a 5.1% cumulative reduction due to insufficient rainfall. The ATR increased 0.9% monthly to 150.6 kg/t but is still down 1.5% for the year. According to Unica, crushing in the first half of October remained steady at 34.04 million tons, bringing the harvest total to 524.96 million tons, down 2.78% from the previous cycle.
