SUGARCANE MILLING IN THE CENTER-SOUTH REACHED 566.03 MILLION TONS

From the start of the 2024/2025 harvest until November 1, sugarcane milling reached 566.03 million tons, up 0.88% compared to last year. In late October, milling in the Center-South dropped 21.62%, totaling 27.17 million tons. 250 production units were operational, 27 of which had already ended the harvest, with rains in Goiás, Minas Gerais, and parts of São Paulo affecting operations. Total Recoverable Sugars (ATR) increased by 2.28% year-over-year, reaching 149.48 kg per ton. Sugar production fell by 24.3% in late October but slightly rose by 0.27% from the harvest’s start. Ethanol production in late October reached 1.64 billion liters, with significant reductions in both hydrated and anhydrous ethanol. However, overall biofuel production rose 6.87%, driven by a 33.25% increase in corn-based ethanol.
