SUGARCANE HARVEST IN THE CENTER-SOUTH SHOULD REACH 620 MILLION TONS, ACCORDING TO HEDGEPOINT

The Center-South’s sugarcane harvest for 2024/25 is projected to reach 620 million tons, according to Hedgepoint. Recent data indicates a lower-than-expected sugar mix due to poor-quality cane from dry weather, despite high crushing levels. The sugar mix might average 50.3% by season’s end. Productivity remains strong, with yields at 89.35 tons per hectare, slightly below last year but above the historical average. Hedgepoint has revised its sugarcane volume estimate up by nearly 6 million tons. Although the market faces a bearish outlook, Brazilian exports and potential Indian sugar exports could offer some support to prices.
