SUGARCANE CRUSHING IN THE CENTER-SOUTH WAS ALMOST STABLE IN THE FIRST HALF OF MAY

In the first half of May, sugarcane crushing in the Center-South reached 44.75 million tons, up 0.43% over the same period of 2023. Crushing totaled 95.42 million tons in the 2024-25 harvest through May 15, marking a 19.49% growth. Sugar output in the first 15 days of May was 2.57 million tons, alike the previous harvest, while ethanol production was 1.99 billion liters, up 2.14%. Ethanol sales in the same fortnight were 1.38 billion liters, a 22.37% increase over the same period during the 2023-24 harvest.
