According to MDIC/Secex data, Brazil’s sugar and molasses exports increased by 15.9% in daily average volume over the first 16 business days of January 2026 compared to January 2025. The daily average shipment increased to 108.6 thousand tons, reaching 1.74 million tons. Despite the increased volume, revenue declined 13.3% on a daily basis, reflecting the steep drop in foreign prices. The average value per ton declined by 25.1% to USD 362.9, bringing the total revenue to USD 630.5 million, which is lower than the figure reported in January of the previous year.
