SUGAR EXPORTS IN 2024 INCREASE 9% COMPARED TO 2023, TO 38,238 MILLION TONS

Brazil exported 38.238 million tons of sugar and molasses in 2024, up 9.01% from 35.077 million tons in the previous year. On the same basis of comparison, revenue increased 4.63%, from US$ 17.791 billion to US$ 18.614 billion. In December 2024 (21 business days), the country shipped 2.836 million tons of sugar and molasses, 25.2% less than in the same month of 2023 (20 business days), when it exported 3.792 million tons. Revenue fell 33.4% year-on-year, falling from US$2.04 billion to US$1.359 billion. The average price per ton of exported sweetener fell 10.95%, from US$538.00 to US$479.10.
