SUGAR AND SOYA ARE HIGHLIGHTS OF PARANA’S PORTS FOR EXPORT IN MARCH

Sugar and soybeans pulled the positive performance of the bulk exported by the ports of Paraná in March. Of sugar (in bulk and bagged), 190,428 tons left the Port of Paranaguá, 85% more than the 102,751 tons exported in the same month of 2019. Soy exports registered an increase of 83%, with shipment of 2.16 million tons. tons, compared to 1.18 million in March last year. Last Thursday, the 2nd, the Port of Paranaguá had already reported a record of monthly movement in the Export Corridor. In 31 days, terminals in Paraná imported and exported around 5.2 million tons, a volume 21% higher than in the same month of 2019. In liquid bulk, soybean oil was the highlight, with 121,364 tons exported, growth of 37 % in relation to the 88,583 tonnes that left the Port of Paranaguá in the same period of 2019. In the General Cargo segment, 982,247 tonnes were handled by the ports of Paraná, or 3% more, with emphasis on the handling of containers. Finally, the movement of fertilizers in March totaled 624,883 tons unloaded in Paranaguá and Antonina. The volume is 15% higher than that registered in the same month in 2019.
