Brazil’s Suape Industrial Port Complex is accelerating its energy transition, aiming to reach a 50% share of renewable power in total consumption later this semester. Clean sources already account for 35.95% of electricity use, supporting key operational areas and reflecting a broader strategy focused on efficiency, emissions reduction and low-carbon infrastructure. Annual consumption across major units totals about 1.46 GWh, while sustainability initiatives include a solar-powered forest nursery producing up to 450,000 seedlings annually within the port’s protected ecological area. Suape is also investing in smart technologies, such as adaptive lighting systems that cut energy use by about 60% in selected zones, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and sustainable port operations.
