SUAPE PORT RECORDS SECOND-BEST PERFORMANCE IN 46 YEARS

In 2024, Suape Port handled 24.8 million tonnes of cargo — its second-best result in 46 years — with a 3.6% volume increase from 2023. Container handling rose 23.4%, hitting a record 646,804 TEUs, while vessel calls grew 7.9%. Suape welcomed its first New Panamax vessel and established a weekly service to Singapore. Breakbulk cargo grew 19.3%, and solid bulk rose 7.9%. Major upgrades, including dredging and breakwater restoration, are set to drive future growth. Suape remained Brazil’s leader in liquid bulk handling and cabotage and topped the Northeast in container and vehicle operations, including a record BYD vehicle discharge.
