SOYBEAN PRODUCTION SOARS THANKS TO RAIN

According to the Jacarezinho Regional Agriculture Center, the lack of rain has made it difficult for soybean growers in Parana’s Norte Pioneiro (Pioneer North) to begin sowing for the 2024-2025 harvest season. If the weather turns better, the projection is for the region to have roughly 168 thousand hectares planted and a 580 thousand tons harvest. Deral forecasts that thus far, 10% of the estimated 5.8 million soybeans in Paraná have already been planted with a predicted yield of 22.4 million tons, 21% greater than the previous harvest. The south takes the lead with 1.67 million hectares, followed by the north with 1.48 million. The anticipated rain in the coming days will help to accelerate the planting and growth of the summer crop.
