SOYBEAN PLANTING TO GROW 1.9% IN THE 2024-25 CROP SEASON

Soybean planting in Brazil for 2024-25 is expected to be 47.33 million hectares, a 1.9% increase over the previous crop. The estimated productivity is 3,643 kg per hectare, with a harvest of 171.54 million tons, a 13.2% increase. The expansion is gradually taking place due to a drop in the manufacturer’s margins. In the South, the La Niña phenomena may limit rainfall. Soybeans are expected to be more lucrative than other crops in the Midwest and Southeast regions. Growth in the North and Northeast regions continues despite reduced margins.
