SOYBEAN PLANTING IN 2022/23 REACHES 74% OF THE AREA IN BRAZIL

According to Pátria Agronegócios, soybean planting reached 73.9% of the area projected for the 2022/23 crop, higher than the historical average, but lower than the last year, as work slows in the Midwest due to lack of rain. The average value for the last five years for this period is 61.8%, while at this time of the previous cycle 78.1% of the areas had already been sown. According to the survey, the return of the rain is necessary for resuming activities. The Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea) reported that soybean planting in Mato Grosso reached 96.17% of the projected area for the 2022/23 crop, a weekly increase of 2.60 percentage points.
