SOYBEAN PLANTING AT 43%, CORN AT 84% IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Favorable weather in Rio Grande do Sul last week accelerated sowing. Soybean planting has reached 43% of the projected area, behind last year’s 50%, but emerged crops are uniform and developing well. Corn planting is more advanced, covering 84% of the estimated area, with crops largely in the vegetative stage displaying good density and development. Rice sowing has surpassed 90%, also with satisfactory establishment. Meanwhile, the wheat harvest is 77% complete, but yields are highly variable due to excessive rain, grain germination, and other moisture-related damage.
