SOYBEAN OIL DEMAND FOR BIODIESEL SET TO INCREASE BY 150%

The Fuel of the Future Law promotes biomethane and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), increases biofuels integrated into gasoline and diesel, and boosts Brazil’s anhydrous ethanol and biodiesel markets. The legislation requires biodiesel blends to increase by 1% annually from 15% in 2025 to 20% in 2030, maybe 25% in 2031. Scientific tests show that the gasoline-ethanol mixture can range from 22% to 35%. Biofuel demand is predicted to rise by 13.9 billion liters of biodiesel and 9.5 billion liters of anhydrous ethanol by 2037, requiring 15 million tons of soybean oil. According to Itaú BBA, the change will eventually enhance the Brazilian economy and agriculture.
