Rio Grande do Sul, a state in Brazil, is predicted to produce record amounts of soybeans in the 2023–2024 harvest season. Based on an area of 6.68 million hectares, the state’s rural extension company Emater-RS projected 22.24 million tons of soybeans for the harvest. This would be the biggest harvest of soybeans in the history of the state, following two straight drought-affected harvests. The state produced 12.9 million tons of soybeans on 6.65 million hectares during the 2022–2023 crop. In Rio Grande do Sul, an average yield of 3,329 kg/ha, or little more than 55 bags/ha, is anticipated for soybeans. This amount is over 71% more than what was harvested the previous year.
