SOYBEAN HARVEST REACHES 96.4% OF THE AREA

The soybean harvest in Brazil has reached 96.4% of the expected area, although it is behind last year and the average of the past five harvests, because of the rains that halted the harvest in Rio Grande do Sul. Currently, 441 towns in Rio Grande do Sul are under a state of public emergency. It is anticipated that up to 3 million tons of grain were ruined. The states of Paraná, Mato Grosso, and Mato Grosso do Sul have completed the harvest, but other states like Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Maranhão have harvest percentages below 100%.
