SJC Bioenergia begins the 2022/23 crop year announcing investments to expand the grain processing unit in Quirinópolis (GO). According to the company, the project aims at reaching 12 million tons equivalent of sugarcane. The expansion will allow SJC to process 700 thousand tons of grain per year, increasing ethanol production, and co-products for animal nutrition, such as DDG, FlexyPro, and oil. The CEO of SJC, Abel Uchoa, says that the project reinforces the company’s moment of growth, and that the investment should be consolidated in the 2022/23 harvest. “We could produce 300 million liters of ethanol from corn”, he says and goes on: “It is a strong investment that means generating jobs directly or indirectly, in addition to the 4 thousand jobs that we have already generated in our units “.
