From January to November 2025, São Paulo’s agribusiness posted a strong trade surplus of US$21.07 billion, driven by US$26.35 billion in exports and US$5.28 billion in imports. Sugar and ethanol led exports with US$8.2 billion (31.3% of the total), followed by meats (US$4 billion), forest products (US$2.7 billion), juices (US$2.6 billion), and the soybean complex (US$2.2 billion), which together represented 75.5% of the state’s foreign sales. Coffee stood out with a 39.2% export increase. China remained the top destination (24.4%), while U.S. purchases fell sharply after tariff hikes, though relief measures announced in November may restore shipments. São Paulo accounted for 17% of Brazil’s agribusiness exports, ranking second nationwide.
