São Paulo’s agribusiness GDP reached R$657.6 billion in 2024, up 4%, accounting for 24% of Brazil’s sector and 18.9% of the state’s economy, according to Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo and Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics. Growth was driven by agro-industry (+6.9%) and services (+7.8%), with livestock leading (+27.5%) amid higher slaughter rates, exports, and firm prices. Agricultural activities rose 4.4%, supported by higher prices for coffee and juices despite weaker output in sugar and ethanol. Data from National Supply Company highlighted reduced ethanol competitiveness. Services—especially logistics and livestock support—expanded strongly, reflecting increased production and trade flows. São Paulo remains Brazil’s leading agribusiness hub, responsible for 32.7% of national sector GDP.
