SÃO PAULO AGRIBUSINESS DRIVES USD 19 BILLION SURPLUS (JAN-OCT)

São Paulo’s agribusiness reached a historic surplus of USD 19.07 billion in the first ten months of 2025, with exports of USD 23.92 billion making up 40.8% of the state’s foreign sales. The sector’s second-largest ever achievement occurred in the midst of an unfavorable international backdrop. Exports were led by the sugar-alcohol complex (30.8%), meat (15.1%), forest products (10.3%), juices (10.1%), and soybeans (9.2%), which represented 75.5% of sales; coffee also grew sharply by 42.8%. The top destinations were China, the EU, and the U.S., though U.S. sales fell after a 50% tariff, with new markets helping to compensate. Within Brazil, São Paulo accounted for 16.9% of national agribusiness exports, maintaining its rank as the second-largest export hub.
