SANTOS PORT AUTHORITY UPGRADES SURVEILLANCE WITH R$3 MILLION INVESTMENT

The Santos Port Authority (APS) has modernized its data and surveillance systems in the high-risk Alemoa area of the Port of Santos, investing over R$3 million. Radio communication was replaced with 3 km of fiber optic cable, and monitoring cameras increased from 12 to 32, enhancing real-time data security and coverage. The explosion-proof cameras offer higher resolution and advanced tech, improving safety for departments like Port Security and Environmental Management. In 2025, APS invested R$18 million in modernization, including new access control, thermal cameras, and connectivity upgrades. The authority is also developing a 5G network, a vessel traffic system (VTMIS), and a mobile app to boost efficiency and community engagement.
