RIO GRANDE DO SUL EXPECTS TO EXPAND WHEAT HARVEST

Rio Grande do Sul is projected to produce 4.068 million tons of wheat in 2024, marking a 55.27% increase from last year, according to the initial estimate by Emater-RS. The expected yield is 3,100 kilograms per hectare, which represents a 77.05% increase. However, the sown area will decrease by 12.84%, totaling 1.312 million hectares. Wheat planting has already reached 56% of the planned area, but crop emergence is irregular due to the impact and volume of rainfall after sowing.
