RAINY SUMMER 2025-26 SHOULD BOOST SUGARCANE PRODUCTION

Above-average rainfall since November has improved sugarcane yield in the Center-South, particularly in western São Paulo, following the drought that damaged the current harvest (2024-25). The next harvest (2025-26), which begins in April, is expected to have a minor gain or tie with the current one, while circumstances like extreme heat, replanting, and fires may influence this. Mills want to put off crushing sugarcane until the fields are ready. At the beginning of harvest, productivity is beginning to recover, and by the end of the cycle, things are looking up.
