PR 2024/25 HARVEST: WHEAT AND CORN CROPS ARE PROGRESSING WELL

The Department of Rural Economy of Paraná (Deral) reported that, between August 12 and 18, 2025, wheat and corn crops developed well, while potato and coffee harvests reached 93% completion. Wheat is mainly flowering and fruiting, with rains boosting production potential, though disease control remains essential. The second corn harvest is ending with variable yields, and preparations for the summer cycle have begun. Potato planting advances, while coffee harvest quality is rated satisfactory, even surpassing last year in some cases. Other crops, such as oats, barley, sugar cane, onion, beans, tobacco, and irrigated rice, show good progress, supported by recent rains despite localized frost impacts. Fruit and vegetable crops, including peaches, plums, nectarines, lemons, bananas, guavas, grapes, strawberries, and cabbages, also progress steadily, though some still reflect frost effects. Pastures are recovering gradually from drought and frost with rainfall support.
