Portos do Paraná has begun a 2025 maintenance dredging campaign in the ports of Paranaguá and Antonina, with the vessels Galileo Galilei and Vox Alexia working to maintain navigation characteristics and prevent siltation. Galileo Galilei started in late April at Ponta do Félix Port, targeting a 9.5-meter depth. Vox Alexia began in May at Paranaguá’s entrance, first dredging to 16.5 meters before moving to 14.5-meter sections. The routine operation, running through July, ensures safe and efficient port activities. Both modern dredgers, operated by European firms, work under contract with the Itiberê Dredging Consortium.
