PORTS IN PARANÁ BREAK HISTORIC MARK IN EARLY 2025

In the first half of 2025, Paraná’s ports handled a record 34.2 million tons, a 1.4% increase over the same period in 2024. While exports remained stable, led by soybeans, soybean meal, and soybean oil, imports rose by 3.7%, fueled mainly by fertilizer demand. Container traffic also expanded, with meat exports, especially chicken, playing a key role. To support this growth, significant investments are underway, including a BRL 600 million railway hopper to enhance wagon capacity and the new “T” Pier at the Port of Paranaguá, which will boost efficiency and accommodate larger vessels.
