Brazilian ports handled 113.7 million tons of cargo in March 2025, up 5.49% from 2024, the biggest figure in Antaq’s time series. Corn, fuels, and minerals saw 132.9% and 79.98% increases, respectively. Inland navigation handled 8.4 million tons (+9.92%) and long-distance 80.8 million tons (+7.85%). Dry bulk reached 67.8 million tons (+7.25%) and liquids 27.5 million tons (+3.22%). General cargo climbed to 8.67%, containers 0.16%. Public ports handled 40.1 million tons (+1.96%), led by Santana (BA) at 47.33%. Private terminals handled 73.5 million tons (+7.52%), headed by Ponta Ubu Maritime Terminal (ES) at 44.90%. The government attributed the gains to port sector investments and modernization.
