PORTO ITAPOÁ TURNS 13 WITH NEW INVESTMENTS IN EXPANSION AND THROUGHPUT RECORDS

Celebrating its 13th anniversary on June 16, 2024, Porto Itapoá recently completed its third expansion phase, increasing its workforce to 1,500 employees and creating over 130 new jobs. In 2023, it became the fastest-growing private-use container terminal in Brazil, exceeding 1 million TEUs. President Cássio Schreiner highlighted ongoing investments in high-tech equipment and infrastructure, including a new warehouse and expanded yard, part of a R$815 million investment package. The terminal now boasts one of Brazil’s largest container yards, covering 455,000 m², with a 2 million TEU annual capacity. Porto Itapoá’s growth supports 50% of the local workforce and contributes R$30 million annually to the local economy. In 2024, it achieved record monthly throughput, dry import operations, crossdocking, and truck access movements.
