The Açu port complex focuses on building a fertilizer mixer in the port’s back area and hopes to house a nitrogenous fertilizer industry in the future. As a result, it sought cooperation with Toyo Setal, a business with its fertilizer manufacturing technology that is present in 87 ammonia projects and 112 urea projects worldwide. The first focus will be on natural gas-based technology, but the firms want to create green ammonia in the future. The facility is expected to produce 1.38 million tons of urea and 781.5 thousand tons of ammonia per year.
