The Port of Suape secured 1st place in the Environmental Performance Index (IDA) of the 2024 Antaq Award and 2nd place in Innovative Initiatives with its Carbon Neutral project. The award highlights the port’s leadership in environmental and ESG practices. The ceremony in Brasília emphasized Suape’s efforts in environmental preservation, including a pioneering carbon stock study in Atlantic Forest areas. Suape holds over 1.4 million tons of stored carbon, with 647,000 tons in native forests and 239,000 in mangroves. Additionally, Suape topped the IGAP ranking, the main category of the 2024 Portos + Brasil Award, for achievements in management, governance, and transparency. The port continues to invest in sustainable and innovative projects to neutralize emissions and foster sustainable economic growth.
