PORT OF SANTOS SOARS IN GLOBAL RANKINGS, CLAIMING TOP SPOT IN LATIN AMERICA

The Port of Santos advanced from 43rd to 37th position in the global ranking of Lloyd’s List, becoming the leader in Latin America in container handling, with 5.4 million TEU in 2024 (+14.7% over 2023). This performance placed it ahead of major hubs like Valencia, Abu Dhabi, and Piraeus, underscoring its vital role in global commerce and Brazilian agribusiness. Its growth accelerated in 2025, with a record-breaking July handling 534.6 thousand TEUs (+8.5%) and 17.4 million tons of cargo. The port is going through a strong investment cycle, including two new berths for liquid bulk at Alemoa (BRL 400 million), the upcoming December auction for the Tecon Santos 10 terminal (projected to boost container capacity by 50%), and the DP World terminal expansion, which will reach 1.7 million TEUs/year by 2026.
