PORT OF SANTOS SEES CELLULOSE THROUGHPUT RISE BY 1.2 MILLION T IN A YEAR

The Port of Santos exported 6.8 million tonnes of pulp by rail in 2024, up 1.2 million tonnes from 2023, raising rail’s share to 91.84%. Across Brazil, total pulp exports grew to 10.6 million tonnes, with Santos contributing nearly one million tonnes of that increase. ANTF credits this growth to the port’s infrastructure improvements, including rail concessions with Rumo Malha Paulista and MRS Logística, and the creation of the Santos Port Internal Railway (Fips) in 2022. These enhancements boosted rail efficiency and cargo flow. Future investments in rail operations, especially upgrades to the Paulista Network, aim to further optimize logistics..
