Renovation of the former Warehouse 7 at the Port of Santos is nearing completion, transforming the historic structure into a technology and education hub. The first phase, restoring the building to its original architectural features, is expected to finish by April, with full operations planned for 2027. Restoration of the adjacent historic Machine House No. 2 is also under way. Both facilities will be managed by the Santos Port Authority and support port-city integration. The project stems from a 2023 agreement tied to downtown revitalization and rail expansion, with reconstruction funded by Cofco. The initiative complements broader urban renewal efforts, including Valongo Park, the Porto-City Footbridge, and the ongoing redevelopment of Warehouse 3, reinforcing the Historic Center’s transformation.
