PORT OF SANTOS DREDGING: PORT AUTHORITY LAYS GROUNDWORK FOR ROCK REMOVAL

The Santos Port Authority (APS) issued a tender for rock removal to deepen the Port of Santos channel to 16 meters, enabling it to accommodate larger vessels. APS President Anderson Pomini stated this is the first step toward reaching a 17-meter depth, fulfilling a long-standing demand from global markets. The selected company will have 18 months to remove approximately 10,000 cubic meters of rock, covering 31 areas within the port’s infrastructure. Bidding ends October 29, with the project expected to reach the target depth by 2026.
