PORT OF PARANAGUÁ SET TO BOOST PRODUCTIVITY WITH EASED MANEUVER RESTRICTIONS

Portos do Paraná has updated its Maritime Traffic and Permanence Standard, introducing greater flexibility for unberthing operations of vegetable bulk carriers transporting soybeans, corn, bran, and sugar at berths 201, 204, 212, 213, and 214 in the Port of Paranaguá. Implemented since August 1 after approvals from Navy and pilotage authorities, this change was enabled by infrastructure improvements, including the removal of Pedra da Palangana, updated signaling systems, and dredging that deepened the draft from 12.8 m to 13.1 m, boosting cargo capacity by around 2,000 tons per ship. In July, the Eastern Export Corridor set a record with 2.6 million tons, helping the port reach 7.3 million for the month. The expectation is to enhance ship traffic and productivity.
