The port of Paranaguá, in the state of Parana, forecast shipments of 7.233 million tons of soybean meal, corn, and sugar in bulk for the third quarter of this year, up 24% over the same period last year. There should be 15 vessels to load soybeans, including those which have already been anchored. Also, eight vessels for bulk sugar, six for soybean meal, and four for corn. According to the terminal’s administration, corn shipment is one of those growing most. Between July and September, corn shipments should reach 2.071 million tons, up 3,256% from the 61.7 thousand tons in the third quarter of last year. For sugar, the projection is for an increase of 89.3%, to 1.570 million tons. Soybeans shipments are expected to drop by 35% to 2.266 million tons. Soybean meal exports are expected to reach 1.325 million tons by September, up 6.4% from the same period in 2021.
