PORT OF IMBITUBA ACHIEVES RECORD-BREAKING OCTOBER

By October 2024, the Imbituba Port Complex handled over 7.2 million tons, up 14.7% from 2023. October saw 729.6 thousand tons, 28.6% more than September but lower than September’s peak. Until October, 281 ships passed through the port, up 14.2%. Petroleum coke, bran, containers, salt, wheat, and 549.8 thousand tons of sugar are the main commodities. Exports rose 14.9% to 51.7% of overall movement. Cabotage declined 11.4%, whereas dry bulk climbed 11.5%, accounting for 80.3% of the total. The Port of Imbituba handled USD 1.92 billion, up 17.4%. The authorities emphasize port management’s strategic significance and ongoing improvement.
