Petrobras plans to increase S-10 diesel production by 120,000 barrels per day in 2025, representing a 20% rise from its current output of 600,000 to 700,000 barrels per day. This expansion aims to reduce diesel imports and move Brazil toward self-sufficiency. The growth will come from increased supply at the Abreu e Lima (PE), Replan (SP), and Revap (SP) refineries, with more improvements expected at Regap (MG), Reduc (RJ), and Revap (SP) from 2025 onwards. Although Brazil is oil self-sufficient, it still relies on fuel imports. Petrobras’ director William França emphasized that the company is working to become self-sufficient in diesel by the end of its 2025-2029 business plan. This marks the start of a broader effort to expand fuel production capacity in the coming years.
