The National Secretary for Ports, Alex Ávila, visited the Port of Paranaguá alongside Antaq’s Director-General to monitor the “Moegão” project, a new R$658 million rail unloading system that is 75% complete and expected to be finished by January 2026. Financed by BNDES, the Moegão will centralize grain unloading from 11 terminals, boosting the port’s export corridor capacity from 5 to 24 million tonnes. The project aims to increase the railway’s share of grain intake from 20% to 50%, enhancing efficiency, reducing costs and emissions, and easing urban traffic in Paranaguá.
