PARANÁ PORTS RECORD 16.8 MILLION TONNES EXPORTED BETWEEN JANUARY AND MAY

Exports at Paraná state ports have risen by 4% this year, totaling 16,861,765 tonnes. Soybean exports grew 11%, with 6,381,268 tonnes handled. Paraná ports contributed significantly to national soybean export growth, accounting for over half the increase. Sugar exports saw a notable rise, with bulk sugar exports up 104% to 2,212,473 tonnes, and bagged sugar exports also up 104% to 293,510 tonnes, driven by high demand from India. The average ton price for sugar increased from $464 to $520. Container shipments increased from 232,566 TEUs to 325,382 TEUs, especially in frozen meat. These figures highlight the efficiency and capacity of Paraná’s port operations.
